🗓 On February 7, 2022, Embassy of Grenada in Moscow celebrated 48th Anniversary of Independence, under the theme “Overcoming Our Adversity, Safeguarding Livelihoods, Protecting Our Future.”
💬 This year, we continue to highlight Grenadian traditions with the performance by the talented Thamara “Songbird”, who will warm up your hearts and bring the flavor of Spice Island to Moscow as well as the performances by the Drum group “Samba Real” and Coverband “Insight,” commented His Excellency Oleg Firer, Ambassador of Grenada during the opening speech.

💬 Grenada for us is an important link with the Caribbean region, which is gaining more and more weight in Russian foreign policy, commented H.E. Alexander Shchetinin, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Latin America and the Caribbean department.
📌 Independence of Grenada from the United Kingdom was granted on 7 February 1974 under the leadership of Eric Gairy, who became the first Prime Minister of Grenada of the sovereign state. The new country became a member of the Commonwealth, with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State.
