H.E. Oleg Firer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Grenada to the Republic of Kazakhstan presented his credentials to H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ceremony of presenting credentials to the President of Kazakhstan by newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of 11 states took place in the Akorda Presidential Palace.

The credentials were presented by Ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates - Mohammed Saeed Mohammed Al-Ariki, Switzerland - David Griechting, Ireland - Brian McElduff, Mexico - Jose Luis Martinez Hernandez, New Zealand - Cialei Allegra van Thur, Albania - Castriot Robo, Grenada - Oleg Firer, Mauritania - Sid'Ahmed Al Bekaye Hamadi, Tunisia - Tarak Ben Salem, Norway - John Mikal Quistad, Nicaragua - Alba Azucena Torres Mejía.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the diplomats on the official start of their mission in Kazakhstan.

- You represent different parts of the world - the Middle East, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Oceania. As a supporter of strengthening international cooperation, Kazakhstan is ready to continue building up friendly ties with your countries in both bilateral and multilateral dimensions," the head of state said.
The President drew the diplomats' attention to a historic milestone - the 30th anniversary of our country's independence. He stressed that modern Kazakhstan is a mature and established state, which is respected for its internal stability, effective model of unity in diversity, dynamic economic growth and balanced foreign policy.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dwelled on our country's approaches to overcoming modern challenges, including the consequences of climate change. In his opinion, the implementation of the promises to be made at the upcoming global conference in Glasgow is of paramount importance. In this context, the Head of State reminded us of Kazakhstan's plans to achieve carbon neutrality.
- This month we will launch the Strategy for Carbon Neutrality 2060. Access to green finance and green technologies will be crucial for its implementation. We look forward to building cooperation with the countries you represent, including the UAE, Switzerland, Ireland, New Zealand, and Norway," the President said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also pointed to the importance of food and water security.
- Kazakhstan is an active participant in the global food supply chain. We are committed to ecologization and sustainable development of the agricultural sector. We initiated the creation of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, which includes 36 countries and about 1.5 billion people, and we are currently chairing this organization," he said.
The head of state reaffirmed the commitment to a common and indivisible Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security community declared in the 2010 OSCE Astana Summit Declaration, welcoming Albania's effective leadership of the OSCE chairmanship in 2020.

In addressing security issues, the President named conflict prevention and peacekeeping in Asia as one of our country's foreign policy priorities. In this context, he noted the role of CICA as a viable platform for developing collective approaches to solving security problems.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also spoke about the situation in Afghanistan, calling on the new authorities of this country to fulfill their obligations to prevent any manifestations of violence, drug smuggling and uncontrolled migration.
The head of state continued by informing the ambassadors of Kazakhstan's contribution to international efforts to stabilize Afghanistan.
- We are working on the issue of delivery of 5,000 tons of wheat flour worth $2.5 million as humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, and this aid will be continuously provided to this country," the President said.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished the diplomats success and conveyed words of greetings to their heads of state and government.
